SL and its management consider cybersecurity a core element of its business, and are committed to establishing, implementing, maintaining
and continuously improving a Cybersecurity Engineering Management System (CSMS) within the organization. This is to comply with relevant national
and regional cybersecurity laws, regulations and standards, such as ISO/SAE 21434 Road Vehicle Cybersecurity Engineering.
SL formally recognizes the cybersecurity risks that exist in its products used in production road vehicles, including aftermarket and service parts,
and applies this throughout the engineering stages, such as concept, design and development, production, operation, maintenance and
decommissioning. SL (SL) manages the cybersecurity of its products holistically throughout the supply chain to systematically identify and maintain
the risk environment of its products. SL (SL)’s Cybersecurity Engineering Policy is carried out by the Cybersecurity Manual and Process defined in the
CSMS. This is enabled by the Cybersecurity Responsibility and ensured by Cybersecurity resources at strategic, tactical and operational levels of SL.
SL ensures high-quality Cybersecurity by actively mastering the following key success factors through a continuous improvement approach
· SL invests in training its employees to ensure they have the awareness and up-to-date skills to identify and address potential Cybersecurity risks.
· SL considers Cybersecurity an integral part of the product life cycle and quality assurance, enhancing the resilience of its products to attacks in the field.
· SL ensures the following to ensure product security at all stages of the product life cycle:
- Strengthen collaboration with stakeholders to determine appropriate product requirements
- Set security by design as a primary goal
- Develop according to defined cybersecurity processes and methods
- Implement security controls into SL production systems
- Respond to changing risks through continuous monitoring and incident response until cybersecurity support ends
- SL provides customers with guidance on protecting cybersecurity sensitive data when products are retired
